Mammogram

Hormone Related Cancer

Many of the same things that cause a rise in breast cancer and in prostate cancer are among the same things that cause a PLD liver to increase in size.

Prostate cancer in China (from the China Study) is heavily linked to eating animal proteins. One source says the link is as strong for meat and prostate cancer as the link between cigarettes and lung cancer.

Both cancers are influenced by hormone and hormone like chemical exposure. An old old article shows that particularly the Japanese coming to live in Hawaii from Japan have a higher rate of Breast Cancer than any other culture living in Hawaii. Researchers believe that Hawaiian Japanese eat more tofu, soy, than other cultures. Soy milk in Hawaii is processed through aluminum pipes. Aluminum has been implicated in an increase in cancer rates, earlier dementia, and Alzheimer's.

Mammograms

Continue to get yearly mammograms and prostate screening exams. For some at high risk, twice yearly exams at the women's health clinic, coupled with monthly self checks, twice yearly physician checks, and once yearly mammogram plus either a breast MRI, molecular breast imaging, or ultrasound has been suggested for those at continued high risk for developing breast cancer.

  • Self checks monthly
  • Physician checks twice yearly
  • Mammogram plus
  • Breast MRI or
  • Ultrasound or
  • Molecular breast imaging
  • Breast Tomosynthesis

The rate of detection rises to 97%. Either one alone the detection is about 30%. Two combined brings the rate to 64%.

A woman from New Zealand with PLD and breast cancer wrote to say that she had made her doctors aware of her PLD. She was taking chemotherapy for her breast cancer and treatment has been very successful without increasing PLD symptoms.

This is a 3D view taken in addition to yearly mammogram. These are additional views.
