This is my dragonfly outfit used by me for gardening, standing in front of an asparagus bed. Note the dragonfly sound emitter attached to my shirt to prevent the mosquitos from biting me!

On Amazon there is a Sonic Mosquito Insect Repeller Keychain emitting a dragonfly sound by HDE®.
If all else fails and you happen to get bitten by an insect, a dab of tiger balm or vicks or metholatum rub will desensitize the bitten area so you do not scratch it. This works.
Sweetgrass
Sweetgrass oil has been shown to be as effective as DEET, a chemical, used for repelling mosquitos. The repelling components of Sweetgrass oil are coumarin and phytol. It has long been used by Native Americans for this purpose. They weave braids worn around the neck or the fragrant grass scents their homes.This product, a braid of sweetgrass, from amazon got good reviews. It is a braid of sweetgrass that can be hung around the neck.
Sometimes hikers use invisaband to prevent mosquitos from biting. Invisaband contains: No mess, No Spray, No Deet. No plastic. No BPA. Putting an invisaband around your wrist can be a good way to enjoy the outdoors. The natural active ingredient is geraniol oil which disrupts a mosquito's ability to sense a body (making you almost invisible to them).
Here is a startup company making a product called KITE that is a patch that is mosquito repellant.
