PKD DIET

Medicare

If you are in the USA, you qualify for Medicare coverage when you are diagnosed with ESRD end-stage renal disease or with failing kidneys and your doctor has written an order (prescription) for dialysis treatments. For people already on Medicare, coverage starts right away. If 65 or older try to get Medigap insurance coverage before reaching the diagnosis of end stage renal disease.

For those under 65, medicare coverage will not start until the fourth month of dialysis. Should you reach the dialysis stage or receive a transplant you will get full coverage from medicare for 36 months. If we have another insurance other than medicare, then medicare becomes your secondary insurance for 30 months. Eventually medicare becomes your primary insurance for the final six months.

We are  sharing our experiences with PKD/PLD Diet, an adjunct diet envisioning it complementing a physician's prescribed medical therapy. Consider testing this with your doctor's prior knowledge, who can  adjust it according to your own uniqueness by adding it to your current  treatment.
