PKD DIET

Self-Monitor pH

In addition to the alkaline PKD/PLD Diet, we can also self monitor our urinary pH, our blood pressure, and our urinary protein. These self monitoring tests are best done in the evening time late before going to sleep. This is a means of assuring and reinforcing ourselves that we are on the right track heading toward health.

Familiarize yourself with the symptoms of high and low potassium symptoms. We aim for a urinary pH of 7. If we register 6.3, this means we are going toward alkalinity. More information on self monitoring urinary pH is available here. Details on self monitoring testing can be obtained from the pulldown menu above or by clicking on the links below. Contact us with any questions you may have. If you are already taking potassium supplements such as potassium chloride, write us about having your doctor possibly switch you to potassium citrate.

We are  sharing our experiences with PKD/PLD Diet, an adjunct diet envisioning it complementing a physician's prescribed medical therapy. Consider testing this with your doctor's prior knowledge, who can  adjust it according to your own uniqueness by adding it to your current  treatment.
