AVOID Animal milks are to be avoided, especially milk from a cow. With kidney cysts, the molecule of animal milk is very large and puts an extra work load on cystic kidneys. Additionally cow's milk seems to be dehydrating as many have awakened [ after a small taste of ice cream] with a cotton mouth or the feeling that the mouth is so dry it feels like a wad of cotton is in the mouth. Mother's milk is fine and very alkaline producing.
There is a low phosphorus milk designed for kidney patients called DairyDelicious. With severe polycystic liver disease I avoid all animal milks as these are loaded with hormones and can stimulate liver cyst growth. To the left is the nutrition of this milk.
There are many non-dairy, non-soy milks on the market: rice milk, almond milk, oat milk, hemp milk, and more. AVOID Soy milks as this is high in phytoestrogens and stimulates liver cyst growth. |
