Avoid T'u-san-chi

T'u-san-chi is a Chinese tea, containing a combination of herbs that are known to be endocrine disruptors. It is highly toxic to the liver It contains Pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs) that cause veno-occlusive liver disease. After drinking herbal tea or eating plants contaminated with seeds of Pyrrolizidine alkaloids plants, symptoms may include vomiting, abdominal pain, hepatomegaly, and later ascites. Jaundice may be present. Avoid detrimental for PKD/PLD. The liver is the target organ. These may also cause cause cirrhosis and possibly hepatic carcinoma. It can cause veno-occulsion disease of the liver.
