PKD DIET

Pokeweed

Avoid pokeweed

Avoid pokeweed, pokeroot as it is detrimental to PKD/PLD. It is never eaten. Pokeweed affects the menstrual cycle; it can cause death. It is used as an agent to induce vomiting which can sometimes lead to a rapid heart beat and even death. Pokeweed can cause an acute toxic reaction in relatively small doses. Poke root (phytolacca root) contains toxic steroidal saponins. These act as irritants to the gastrointestinal tract and probably account for the severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea which accompanies an overdose.

We are  sharing our experiences with PKD/PLD Diet, an adjunct diet envisioning it complementing a physician's prescribed medical therapy. Consider testing this with your doctor's prior knowledge, who can  adjust it according to your own uniqueness by adding it to your current  treatment.
