Avoid Melaleuca Tea Tree Oil

Melaleuca alternifolia the herb, is tea tree oil. Tee tree oil is to be avoided with PLD. From reading published medical articles, melaleuca is a potent endocrine disruptor affecting breast tissue growth in young boys. It is possible that melaleuca can liver cyst growth in PLD. It is to be avoided.

However there is some evidence that tea tree oil can be useful as an antifungal agent. Melaleuca is reported to have broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against bacterial, viral, fungal, and protozoal infections affecting skin and mucosa.

Since being diagnosed with severe PLD polycystic liver disease, I have become an avid ingredients reader. Scrutinize individual ingredients and check them out if they can help or hinder PLD, not willing to take any chances of increasing liver cyst growth, I error on the side of avoidance.
