Maca

Avoid Maca

It is a root vegetable and said to be an aphrodisiac. Avoid Maca. Maca has estrogen like substances which may trigger liver cyst growth. It is a potent endocrine disruptor.

It contains large amounts of calcium and potassium, as well as iron, silica, and many other trace minerals. It is used in Peru to treat and prevent osteoporosis. It might be useful for hot flashes. Maca is said to be the herbal equivalent of viagra, increasing libido in both men and women. It is said to balance hormones. It is alkaline producing and useful for individuals taking a raw food diet. MaCafe, is a caffeine free coffee substitute that contains maca.

Maca contains glucosinolates, which can cause goiters when high maca consumption is combined with a diet low in iodine.

If one has liver disease, this contains estrogen like substances which may trigger liver cyst growth. In agriculture maca is used to increase live stock fertility.
