Avoid eggs

Egg White

Egg white contains all the protein and most of the calories, however it is an a-vitamin. Any nutrients eaten at the same time as the egg white, particularly raw egg white, lessens any absorption of nourishment. Raw egg whites contain a glycoprotein called avidin that is very effective at binding biotin, one of the B vitamins. The concern is that this can lead to a biotin deficiency.

Egg Yolk

Egg yolks raise the body's cholesterol. Elevations in cholesterol contribute to heart disease. There is a new product called Beyond Eggs® that consists of a powder made from ground-up peas, sorghum and other plant ingredients. It could also be used as an egg substitute. If you have an egg allergy, stay away from flu shots. Flu shot virus is grown within eggs.

Egg Shells As a Source of Calcium

Be sure to wash your eggs before using the egg shell. Egg shells can be a useful calcium source. Here is a recipe for Lemon egg. Making your own calcium citrate comes about through leaching the minerals found in the egg shell and putting them in an edible form with lemon juice. From our experiences, this has helped diminish bone thinning; converts one easily toward the alkaline; and the taste of lemon from lemon egg is fine. Use only one teaspoon of this mixture per day. After 3 days toss the mixture and start fresh. Here are a few eggshell trial results; here is yet another, and finally one eggshell trial from an aging population.

After making lemon egg, one can carefully boil the removed egg and then eat it. Allow the boiled egg to cool and remove the eggshell membrane. If one desires, this membrane can be added to the lemon egg mixture. Eggshell membrane has been found to be useful for osteoarthritis in several clinical trials. Within seven days participants noticed increased flexibility. Eggshells are actually a porous membrane rather than an impermeable barrier. Once eggs are washed the egg shell can become damaged. Commercial egg farmers must coat the egg with something after this cleaning process. They can even use mineral oil. This is akin to adding preservatives to eggs (processed foods).

Commercial Eggshells in the USA

Some states require that all eggs receive a chlorine bath and mineral oil coating before they are nestled into their cartons. Ideally, eggs should be processed the day after they are laid. The USDA requires processing within 30 days of lay. High-quality eggs are processed within seven days of lay. Then consumers keep eggs perhaps until their outdate.

Organic Eggshells in the USA

Organic eggs may be chlorinated or rinsed in lye. Organic eggs must be cleaned with a non-synthetic or synthetic cleaners found on the National List of allowed non-agricultural substances.
These synthetics include:

If chlorine is used at levels over 4 ppm, it must be followed with a clean water rinse at no more than 4 ppm residual levels. Chlorine is harmful to PLD polycystic liver disease. Chlorine can interact with organic materials to form highly toxic compounds called DBPs (disinfection byproducts), which can be carcinogenic and mutagenic. Eggs are organic material. What chemical interactions are occurring in a chlorinated egg that have yet to be discovered? Instead of harsh chemicals, the organic guide recommends cleaning eggs with plain vinegar (mixed with 3 parts water) because it is non-synthetic and quite effective.
