Aspergillus

Avoid Aspergillus

It is among the most harmful and the among the most useful fungus known to humans. Aspergillus contains various subspecies of fungi. Most notably Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus, produce aflatoxins a naturally occurring mycotoxin. These particular aflatoxins are included together with very carcinogenic substances; that is these aflatoxins can produce cancers. These are harmful and toxic to humans. Once entering the body, aflatoxins are primarily metabolized by the liver. Individuals who eat peanuts, and peanut butter where aspergillus thrives (even organic peanuts and peanut butter) bombard the body with aflatoxin that affects the immune system leading to liver cancers. In China today liver cancer has reached epidemic proportions. A little known experiment has shown that this bombardment of a set large dose of aflatoxin produces liver cancers in individuals who eat greater than 5% of daily dietary protein.
