WHAT
CAN BE DONE ONCE KIDNEY HEALTH BEGINS TO DECLINE
Once kidney
functioning has declined some individuals have tried speaking with
their nephrologists and asking about the possibility of instituting
the following changes.
•
Eliminate proteinuria
• Alkalize
i.e. sodium citrate, potassium citrate
• Lower dietary proteins 0.6 or
- 0.3 grams/kg
• Essential amino acids
supplements (Gambro or Calwood)
• Lower Blood Pressure
ACE inhibitors or receptor site blockers tight blood pressure control
• Correct anemia
