PH PAPER
For
testing the pH of urine in the evenings, pH Stix Alkalive is the easiest to use. The cost for the dipstix is a bit more than pH paper on a roll. The
color chart is a double range of colors from yellow when acid, green neutral and blue when alkaline. 80 strips are about 2 for $12.72.

The pHydrion Vivid strips, one tears off a piece from a paper roll. These are easy and less expensive than the Alkalive pH dipstix. Order No. 067 with a pH 5.5-8.0 Vivid for $6.50.

Email Micro
Essential Lab for pH papers on a roll. Ask for the refills for #067 with a range of 5.5
to 8.0. It measures in increments of 0.2 pH. The price is 3 rolls for $20 or $50 for 10 rolls. This is a very long roll that will last about 3 months or more.
PROTEIN TESTING PAPER - ALBUSTIX For checking for urinary protein albustix are available 100 for $27.99

IRON LIQUID HERBAL
- IRON
Floradix or liquid iron with herbs by Salus-Haus. A few are taking this
form of iron and have discovered it does not cause any constipation. For
about iron Floradix written in German (the manufacturer) click
here. For more on why a liquid is more readily absorbable, click
here. Check with your doc about prescribing iron. It needs to be taken
with vitamin C to activate (rose hips all natural) and milk and calcium
will de-activate. If one is taking cream of wheat cereal with iron, the
iron absorption will be lost if milk is added to the cereal

EAA Gambro
makes tablets of amino acids. It says on the package to take ten daily
with meals, but Dr. Walser recommends 15. Made for kidney patients, these
pills are easy to swallow with a small amount of water. Download Gambro
amines specification sheet and published article
on their use. Aminess N, is the essential amino acid supplement product
that GAMBRO offers. To place an order, please call GAMBRO toll free at
1-800-651-2623. The price is $65.00 for a bottle of 300 tablets.
Both Calwood and Gambro have the same nitrogen poor amino acid supplements
used by Dr. Mackenzie Walser in his clinical trials. Several individuals
willing to stick with his diet were successful in stopping malnutrition,
raising serum albumin, lowering creatinine, eliminating anemia, and improving
kidney functioning. This 22 gram protein diet is supplemented with amino
acids, zinc and iron (if you take iron, take vitamin C with rose hips
so 50% of the iron is not eliminated in the gut). Low serum albumin, usually
an indicator of malnutrition, came back to normal limits by decreasing
protein intake to 0.3 grams per kilogram of body weight. COPING
WITH KIDNEY DISEASE, eliminates all animal proteins
as well as some high protein, high phosphorus, high nitrogen and high
potassium vegetables. These are a few articles.

ESSENTIAL FATTY
ACIDS - EFA
EFA
- Hemp
seed meal, butter, and oil for omega 3's.Hemp oil contains more EFA Essential
Fatty Acids than flax. It is free of potential toxic contaminants commonly
found in fish oil supplements. It also provides the perfect 3:1 EFA balance.
There are organic hemp seed oil caps from Canada. I have found hemp seed
to be the essential fatty acids that does not cause pains or increase
in abdominal girth. Both fish oil and flax seed oil cause pain and cyst
expansion and are to be avoided. Omega 3's Hempseed
oil caps is useful for the daily intake of essential fatty acids.

at Roxanne's in Larkspur, California - a delightful culinary experience
that is well equal to any fine dining experience in Europe. These meals
take a long time to prepare. They are made totally from raw nuts, vegetables,
fruits, and sprouted grains with all the remaining enzymes still active
and abundant. Roxanne has closed her restaurant but still has take out,
equally delicious.

COPING
WITH KIDNEY DISEASE by Mackenzie Walser MD Johns Hopkins University
Professor of Medicine. – a review
Coping with Kidney Disease is a useful, well-written and helpful book when one is approaching dialysis or transplant. It
is written for the layperson, however parts are technical. Precise
directions are given as to how one can go about arresting the downward
progression of kidney disease once protein appears in the urine. Limiting protein
to 22 grams each day or 0.3 grams per kilogram of body weight, supplementing with nitrogen poor essential amino acids, and maintaining alkalinity accomplishes
this. I have seen this work with one extremely well motivated individual.
If dropping the daily protein intake before nephrotic syndrome develops is helpful, has
not yet been established. The book uses sodium
bicarbonate to correct acidosis. A better alternative alkalizer might be sodium citrate. Several unique observations are made
by Dr. Walser
• nausea and vomiting is associated with anemia
• leg cramps - itching is when the body is too acid
He corrects anemia early so
it does not lead to LVH left ventricular hypertrophy. I would add when
taking iron tablets take an all natural rose hips vitamin C for increased iron absorption.
He goes over medications including
many OTC’s that can precipitate a decline in kidney functioning.
Very interesting reading email Reverse Aging by Sang Whang - a review
This book has an alternative to eating alkaline or to supplementing
with potassium citrate or nettle extract by drinking alkaline corrected tap water.
I have yet to try a water ionizer. He writes about a far infrared device and the use of acid water to wash. Farmers
dip fruits and vegetables in acid waters to keep them crisper. I found
this interesting since most of the books on youthful skin talk of using
acid solutions. His explanation seems plausible - that the
skin needs the added acidity to keep bacteria from invading and penetrating
the skin. email
An Apple a Day - Is it enough today? by M.Ted Morter, Though it is about an alkaline diet, it is not geared specifically to kidney or liver disease.

Parsley is useful to lower blood pressure. Chew a few freshly grown sprigs. It will need to be planted each year.
Garlic is another food that helps lower blood pressure, maintain alkalinity, and limit an increase in disease forming bacteria.

Mulungai or drumstick plant is said to be very useful as a solution to world hunger. This vegetable is said to give protein to the body in a very digestible plant form. It is also called Moringa.
Saffron organic is available for about $35 for a huge tin which lasts about two
months. This is a useful herb for liver cysts, lowering blood pressure, and encouraging clotted constricted vessels to lay down new pathways.
Salt Himalayan Pink crystal salt Halite also known as Himalayan crystal salt is a wonderful salt for those times
when you need to use a touch. When combined with a natural artesian water
filtered through layers of volcanic rock, one drop provides bodies with
84 essential minerals in the exact proportions that are needed by the
body. It is said to have stored sunlight within its crystals. Here is a recipe for solé. To
buy different forms of halite. Halite is useful for energy work. Most
of this information is from the German book: Water and Salt

Spelt flour is available from purity foods. Purity Foods is located in Okemos, Michigan USA. Spelt can be found at local health food stores.
Tupelo
honey has a different molecular structure, higher in the ratio of
levulose than any sweetener; thus it will never granulize. Its sugar
structure is so different it bypasses the liver and is easily absorbed.
It is one honey I consistently test alkaline and I experience no mood
swings, headaches, or liver pains. It does not elevate my cholesterol. This was first harvested by Creek Indian tribes near what is now the southeastern states of Georgia, South Carolina, Mississippi, and Florida. The bee honey utilizes the nectar from the high black gum tree flowers that grows along river banks. Here is a map of where tupelo honey might be harvested based on the location of gum trees within the United States. Lanier is one company selling tupelo honey. I have heard it can be found at health food stores, Safeway, and bee apiary farms. Another delightful honey I have found in Europe is Linden flower honey, also a tree flower honey.
Thyme flowers make a delightful tea, a pleasant aromatic honey. Thyme can provide some antiseptic properties as well. Thymol is made from thyme.
