Cereal grass

Cereal Grass Juice

Cereal grass juices (barley, spelt, etc.) contain all the essential amino acids. A stop at a local juice bar will allow one to purchase freshly prepared cerealgrass juice in one ounce containers. It is often served with a an orange slice; a quick bite into the orange slice helps to follow down the fresh juice. For travel, there are flash frozen powders.

A deficiency of just one amino acid can result in allergies, low energy, sluggish digestion, poor resistance to infection, and premature aging. Wheatgrass Juice contains 17 amino acids, lysine, isoleucine, tryptophan, phenylalanine, threonine valine, methionine, alanine, arginine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, glycine, histidine, proline, serine, and tyrosine. Before vitamins were manufactured, wheat grass was sold in little tins and promoted as containing all the vitamins needed for the human body.

Is Wheatgrass wheat?

It's not yet real wheat; chlorophyll has formed and it is considered safe. Wheatgrass is really a wheat sprout. Once a seed starts to sprout it comes about naturally that this process will diminish the phytates. Wheat is one grain that even when it is made into flour, then bleached and put on the shelves for purchase, there still remains 95% phytic acid; wheat is a grain that contains the largest amount of phytates. Spelt does not have this. The Roman armies of olde took spelt pouches on their war journeys. Spelt sustained the conquering Roman Legions. Many individuals have a slight allergy to wheat. This manifests as a runny nose, or cough after eating wheat. This allergy is very common.

Phytates Cereal Juices

Cereal grass juice when grown to the first jointing stage, (almost like sprouts) contains no phytates or phytic acid. An ounce of juice is beneficial for the body. It is taken in through the liver and here absorbed and distributed throughout the body.

Growing your own wheatgrass is a book with some important tips. I disagree with the author on points he makes about wheatgrass juice, countering the argument for consuming wheatgrass (the other side of the story). I find wheatgrass, cereal grass juice to be beneficial for the body. It is taken in first by the liver and is molecularly similar to the heme molecule. I think alfalfa can cause arthritis like symptoms and algae can activate PLD.

Phytic acid is an element that can cause problems for PKD'rs. This is a reason to soak nuts, seeds, grains, legumes, and beans. Soaking greatly diminishes (if not totally eliminates) much of the phytic acid. Phytic acid is the principal storage form of phosphorus in many plant tissues, especially in the bran and seeds. Phytates are not digestible to humans or non-ruminant animals. It is not a source of either inositol or phosphate if eaten directly. Phytates makes certain important minor minerals unabsorbable such as zinc and iron, and to a lesser extent, macro minerals such as calcium and magnesium. On its way out of systems, these seeds pulls minerals from our cells. If you are going to grow your own cereal grasses, be sure it is harvested before the first jointing phase; before the little sprout splits into two.

In nature, phytates surround the hull of nuts, seeds, grains, legumes and beans. These tender seeds are prevented from becoming digested when eating the seed as the hull contains phytates. Phytates are a protectant for the plant. The seeds come through whole and undigested. The entire seed can drop by the wayside and emerge into a new plant. For humans this means we can suffer indigestion when we consume beans producing gas and bloating from eating grains. These seeds can build up phytic acid in our systems. Sprouting or soaking these foods releases the phytic acid. The little seed thinks it is being planted and it is now able to release the phytic acid into the soaking water which is rinsed off.

Chlorophyll or Green Juice

Chlorophyll has a similar molecular structure to that of blood hemoglobin. The chlorophyll molecule and the hemoglobin molecule are almost identical. At the center hemoglobin has iron whereas chlorophyll has magnesium. This similarity was first suggested in 1855 by Verdel.

Many potent food alkalizers are filled with chlorophyll:
cereal grass juice, kale juice, leafy greens juice. Consuming chlorophyll allows one to capture sunlight as energy according to a recent theory. Do insects Do it?

Andrei Sommer, a researcher in Ulm, Germany, has written an interesting research article about light, Burst of light, speeds up healing by turbocharging our cells.
"The light causes mitochondria, the cell's powerhouses, to produce more ATP, a compound that provides the cells with energy."

All of this can be correlated with Dr. Grantham's discovery, that the fluid inside a cyst is filled with a very similar chemical that is within a plant forskolin or coleus. We with PKD/PLD may have inherited DNA gone awry, but drinking the juice of plants, this liquid, may help us to heal.

Grains A Source of Inflammation?

A few have noticed bloating from all grains. Following my liver resection I was unable to eat any grain that had been ground into a flour, even freshly ground by me. If that flour was made into a bread, flat bread or a cracker, I noticed pain emanating from my liver. This did not occur if the whole grains were soaked and made into a cereal.

For this reason some have chosen to try avoiding all grains. Inflammation of cystic organs is present. One researcher has said if the cause of this inflammation can be found, perhaps this discovery could lead to a cure for PKD.

Aging ATP

With aging comes a decrease in ATP, an enzyme within the body that lessens and lessens. According to wikipedia—

The amount of ATP within the body can rise by
Utilizing a far infrared device.
Get enough sleep
Keep yourself from getting debilitating diseases by decreasing exposure to cigarette smoke, alcohol, toxins, processed and fatty foods.
Drinking plenty of water.
Having adequate vitamin C and vitamin B intake.
Drinking green juices daily.
Protect your own DNA (milk thistle, cruciform vegetables, turmeric, etc.)

Cereal Grass Juice, Can It Help Fatty Liver?

Lately there have been articles that talk about the gene expression being curtailed by drinking chlorophyl or green juices. We have each inherited:
ADPKD
or
ADPLD
but possibly we can modify the expression of this gene. These symptoms might be modified by ingesting a freshly prepared green juice.
These are two preliminary articles that point to perhaps alcoholic, fatty liver, and PUFA livers might be altered:
