Horseradish

Avoid Horseradish

Avoid horseradish. It is one of the strongest diuretic herbs available. Herbalists in Hawaii use horseradish root as a one time treatment to clear out sinus infections. If it is a continuous usage, and this were me, I would not use horseradish. From everything I have read, daily use is to be avoided, especially for PKD. But like I say some Hawaiian herbalists use this for sinus infections as a one time flush. It is very traumatic but seems to work out well. They snort it and it really, really burns the delicate mucous membranes.

The consumption of horseradish is not advisable for individuals suffering from gastric ulcer, goitrous problems or renal illnesses. Also the consumption of horseradish is forbidden to children younger than 4 years old.  Medicinal amounts of horseradish may interact with thyroid medications; use cautiously.

Horseradish as a diuretic can dry us out and diminish kidney functioning. It could be temporary or permanent. Horseradish and Hawthorn both claim to be useful for lowering blood pressure. However in a body with polycystic organs hawthorn can raise blood pressure and diuretic properties can increase kidney stone formation and diminish kidney functioning.
