CORAL CALCIUM

AVOID CORAL CALCIUM : No one in this group has reported coral calcium to be helpful. One group of individuals from Japan said it was thought the island peoples of Okinawa eat an abundance of sea vegetables and it was this which contributed to their longevity. Sea vegetables are very high in positively charged cations that are easily assimilated by the body. This is present in kelp. Some have used a sprinkle of kelp powder and added it to food or juices. The taste of kelp is not everybody's cup of tea; a few kelp grains bring a multitude of minerals to the body.

Coral Calcium is a questionable alkalinizing agent. I did not enjoy putting a little sachet of sand in drinking water. I no longer use any coral calcium. I read later that coral calcium contains multiple contaminants.

The benefits of Coral Calcium were derived by a reporter interviewing the oldest man in the world for the 1979 Guiness World Book of Records. The man was 121 years old. What was amazing about this man was that he did not have any evidence of chronic illness. Many of the people on the same island of Okinawa were also over 100 years old. They too had no chronic illness. The aged residents of this island underwent medical examinations and were all found to be very healthy. They walked tall without a stoop; they did not suffer from weakened porous bones nor was there any heart disease. Their supply of water was filtered through a coral bed that supported the entire island.

Alas, with their change in diet, the residents of Okinawa are no longer experiencing longevity. They are succumbing to the diseases of industrialized society. The exporters of Coral Calcium are facing charges from lead contaminants and other from Coral Calcium. There are more effective alkalizers such as potassium / sodium citrate.
