Corydalis

Avoid Corydalis

Corydalis has been used in Chinese herbal root medicine for the relief of pain. Corydalis has an analgesic effect approximately 1% that of the strength of opium. Not for use by individuals with kidney or liver disease. There are over 150 different species of corydalis. Its analgesic effect or pain relieving effect is approximately 1 % of the strength of opium. Avoid as it can be detrimental to PKD/PLD.

Taking corydalis during pregnancy might start your period and cause the uterus to contract. This could cause a miscarriage. If at all possible, have a doctor check your liver enzymes before starting corydalis ad after using it 6 weeks to see if there is an elevated bilirubin level, in which case you should stop using corydalis. Some cases of hepatitis have been associated with levo-tetrahydropalmatine or corydalis.

We are  sharing our experiences with PKD/PLD Diet, an adjunct diet envisioning it complementing a physician's prescribed medical therapy. Consider testing this with your doctor's prior knowledge, who can  adjust it according to your own uniqueness by adding it to your current  treatment.
